Pinnacle Peak Park
Visitors to Pinnacle Peak Park had a special treat this year to celebrate AZ Statehood Day. Alice, a volunteer at the park, shared her in-depth knowledge of the AZ state symbols including flower, mammal, dinosaur, bird, butterfly and many others. Also, visitors received an AZ state quarter provided by Friends of Pinnacle Peak Park.
Our newest addition to the Trail Maintenance Crew is affectionately known as the "Trail Beast". Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to purchase this much needed piece of equipment. Recently, the trail maintenance crew used it to rebuild a washed out wall near the 1/4 mile marker. The Trail Beast performed flawlessly, carrying several loads of large rock up to the damaged portion of the trail. The Trail Crew was able to accomplish the rebuilding task in one day with this addition! Prior to the Trail Beast, it would have taken several days just to get the rock up the trail, not to mention the sore backs and legs that would have resulted from this strenuous activity.
